Chronic Pain lasts a lifetime and affects bones, nerves, organs, and other structures in the body. The damage to normal tissue may cause long-lasting severe pain.

What should I do if I have Chronic Pain?
Pain Doctors regularly listen, see and help to relieve patients’ pain problems. The Pain Doctor provides pain medicine and other treatments for treatment of your disease. Most of your pain should be controlled but if it is not you should talk to your Pain Doctor and discuss your expectations versus what can be done for you. It is very important for the family to be involved.

My pain is not controlled by standard therapy – what should I do?
Tell your doctor that you would like to be referred to a Board Certified Pain Management Doctor. Tell your doctor you are not leaving his care but you need the assistance of a Pain Treatment Specialist.

You do not have to suffer with your pain!
Pain Therapy is usually a combination of Oral medication, Physical Therapy, and appropriately spaced Booster Pain Injections. In some cases advanced Pain Management Techniques or Surgery are indicated. Remember a chronic disease will need care along the course of ones life ! Therapy may consist of the addition of Opioid-narcotics, sedatives and other special medications used in pain treatment.

Will I become addicted to narcotics?
Absolutely not; If you have real pain, you should not fear that you will become an addict, you will not. It is no longer acceptable to deny patients appropriate narcotic therapy for fear of addiction. Narcotic Tolerance may develop but Your Pain Management Doctor will carefully guide your therapy so it is safe, effective, and in your best interest.

Are there other Pain therapies?
Yes and we can guide you to those therapies, such as, Acupuncture, Hypnosis, Biofeedback and Psychological therapy and other Alternative therapies. Surgical pain relief is available if absolutely required.

Can Injections help relieve my pain?
Yes ! We may perform precisely placed Pain Control Injections at the source of the pain designed to diagnose, treat and relieve the pain. The Diagnosis is made based upon the type, location of pain, X-ray and MRI studies and on response to diagnostic and therapeutic injections to the exact site of suspected pain origin! Your doctor will recommend the most logical Diagnostic injections to find the source and relieve your pain. Then a Therapeutic treatment program is offered to keep you in good pain control.
